Goals


Departmental Goals:

 

  • Medical education-   To provide up to date knowledge of pulmonary pathology to graduate & postgraduate students while retaining focus on basic concepts. To make them leaders in education and research in relation to respiratory diseases. Postgraduate students are motivated to attend various conferences & CME’s & do poster presentations at various conferences.

 

  • Research-   To develop and promote research attitude in the department including postgraduates, regularly publishing articles in reputed national & international journals.

 

  • Services-  To be the center of quality pulmonary healthcare, accessible and affordable for all sections of society. To strengthen public awareness about smoking and its health hazards. To sensitize the patients and the general public about the rising problem of obstructive sleep apneas and its management.

Research Contributions


Valuable & affordable best services have been provided for 25yrs by the Institute and Hospital to the people of Ghaziabad. The department has enriched their research with more than 40 publications in a year supported by intramural and extramural funding to raise the interest of students in ethical research.

Events & Announcements


  • World TB Day was celebrated on 23rd March 2018. The lecture was is given by Dr. K B Gupta Who is Chairman of State Task Force (STF) for RNTCP Haryana since 2004. District TB Officer,Ghaziabad, Dr. JP Srivastava was in invited as chairperson for Inaugural function &CME on  World TB Day.
  • Recently participated in Recent STF (State Task Force), 3rd Quarter report 2018 & RNTCP RNTCP Regional/ZTF (Zone Task Force) Review Meeting State, Uttar Pradesh which was held in Dec 2018.
  • State Task Force – (TB control) Meeting – Revised National Tuberculosis Programme– Participation of Faculty as representatives of the Institute on 4th Oct 2019.
  • Core-committee meeting was Organised by the Pulmonary Medicine Department, Santosh Medical  College & Hospital on 13th Sept 2019.
  • CME was conducted on “Recent Updates in RNTCP” by the Department of Pulmonary Medicine of Santosh Medical College & Hospital for sensitization of faculty, PG students and interns about RNTCP on the 13th of Sept 2019.
  • Case Presentation of some interesting case of Surgical Emphysema due to Tracheal Rupture on 25th Sept 2019 by Department of Pulmonary Medicine of Santosh Medical College & Hospital.
